Are you looking to sell your products and/or services online? Karks.com can help! Whether your business is large or small, we offer customized shopping carts that fit your budget. We can also help with other necessities such as setting up an online merchant account and promoting your new online storefront.
Well, that depends on what you are selling and how many products or services you sell.
For Small Sites:

If you want to get your feet wet in the E-Commerce game, then PayPal offers a lot of flexibility. They're affordable, they're trusted and the cart is very easy to setup. On the downside, you may eventually outgrow the service.
But, if you're like Be Fit Body & Mind Yoga, PayPal may be exactly what you're looking for. Karks.com setup a simple cart for their studio in Lemoyne and it's great for clients to register for classes and retreats online. They also sell a selection of yoga-related products as well.
For Larger Sites:

Have a lot of products? Then Miva Merchant may be the shopping cart for you. It comes standard with lots of features, but has the ability to accept "modules" which can provide for all sorts of extra functionality. Plus, it's database driven, meaning you can easily add thousands of products through Miva's web interface.
This was the choice for Pealer's Flowers and Company. They already had an e-commerce website, but it was a little light on features. Karks.com created a new, custom-designed site for Pealer's using Miva Merchant 5.5. Then, we added modules which gave them the ability to run a Customer Rewards Program, Coupon Codes, E-mail Lists, Event Reminders, Custom Shipping Settings (for example, different shipping prices for different zip codes) and even a Custom Checkout Interface (which allows them to retrieve order information such as delivery dates, etc.).
For Something Unique:
What if your business doesn't quite fit in to one of the above categories? There just might be hope for you yet! Although Miva Merchant, through the use of modules, can tackle many different specialized functions, sometimes you do need to look for other solutions.
Take Stock by Stuart, for example. Stuart Leask is an award-winning photographer and he wanted to start up a stock photography website with Pennsylvania-themed images (they're beautiful - great for your own website or print materials!). It's not a request that I get every day. So, we had to do some searching.
As it turns out, there was a custom piece of software out there designed to do exactly what Stuart wanted. It allows customers to purchase photos online, and receive an e-mail which contains a link for them to download their purchase. It even ties in with PayPal, so Stuart doesn't have to buy a separate merchant account. Never say never!
The Lowdown:
There are a lot of options for selling online, but finding out which one is right for you doesn't have to be difficult. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I'll be glad to help guide you through the world of e-commerce.
