Writing to Support the Mental Health of Remote Workers

As someone who has been a remote worker since 1999, I know that it’s a unique lifestyle. And there are plenty of challenges – particularly when it comes to mental health.

Work-based resources can be hard to come by – if not impossible. Solo freelancers like myself don’t have a human resources department to consult. Nor do we receive benefits that provide access to care.

But, even if you work remotely for an established company, there’s still a struggle with isolation. It comes with the territory.

That’s why an organization like Big Orange Heart is so vital. They offer a wealth of services to folks who don’t work in a traditional office. Coaching, mentoring, and virtual events are geared towards the well-being of remote workers and freelancers.

Color My Heart Orange

Color My Heart Orange Book Cover

Big Orange Heart recently released a mindful coloring book, “Color My Heart Orange“. The book is comprised of illustrations and “Mindful Moments” that were submitted by volunteers. Talented community members coming together to create something that can benefit everyone.

When the call for submissions came out, I immediately wanted to contribute. I’m proud to say that a poem I’ve written appears in the book!

Not only is coloring a relaxing activity, all proceeds from the book go towards Big Orange Heart’s mission.

I invite you to check out the book. Even if coloring isn’t your thing, it may just make a great gift for someone you know.

Lastly, thanks to the team at Big Orange Heart for allowing me to contribute to the project!
